Blockchain Groktalk #1 | AMMs vs Orderbooks

Together, Groksmith and DraperX are launching a new series of events around web 3.0 and blockchain where international speakers and the local community meet to learn about recent industry innovations and exchange ideas. 

Our first guest speaker is Shahmeer Navid, the co-founder of Ferum (https://docs.ferum.xyz/), a fully decentralized consolidated limit order book built on top of Aptos. Before Ferum, Shahmeer was an early engineer at Robinhood where he built a trading infrastructure capable of handling billions of dollars of daily trading volume and helped scale a team from just 3 engineers to an org of 60+.

On Thursday, January 26th, at 19:00, we’re going to talk about Automated Market Makers (AMMs), which are often cited as one of the biggest innovations to come out of DeFi. You will learn what AMMs are, how they work, and how they compare to orderbooks.
